Not Especially Special [My lettering on a Children's Book!]
I've been dying to share this with you! And today I finally get to.
My lettering is on the cover of a children's book!!!
It still blows my mind that I was asked to be a part. I feel like the dove in the story.
The author, Katie, is a dear friend of mine. This is her second book, and though I'll try, I cannot convey through this post how excited I am for this story to get in the hands of your kids and grandkids.
Not Especially Special shares the journey of a sweet, ordinary dove who isn't as beautiful, talented or fast as the others. Through her story, though, she discovers the crazy-big, no-bird-too-ordinary love of God. And that He not only loves her exactly as she is but He designed her with incredible purpose. I get choked up even writing about it. This book is not just super well-written but also illustrated with some of the most beautiful, whimsical animal illustrations. The Illustrator is sooo crazy good, you guys!!!
I was also able to do the calligraphy for two ART PRINTS that are a part of the book's Kickstarter. Check 'em out below. Don't they look amazing paired with the Illustrator's sweet dove, owl, and watercolors?! You can snag one free with a pledge of $40 or more on the book's Kickstarter page. (This amount will also get you a hardbound copy of the book!)
I can try, try, try to explain in words how gorgeous and incredible this book is, but I simply can't do it justice. So will you do me a favor? I need you to go see it for yourself! Will you do that for me? Click here to see Not Especially Special!
P.S. If you decide to help get this book in print as a Backer for the Kickstarter, I want to give you a special promo code for 25% off your next order in the shop. It'll be good for one month and valid on any purchase at all, including our new rubber stamps or any new products released before the promo code expires! Just email a snapshot of your donation to firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll return your email with a unique promo code.
Thank you so much for reading this today and sharing in my excitement and support for this amazing project!
Here's to the doves!
